My Story
About
"Hello, my name is Brea Bird, and I am a 30-year-old creative. I grew up in a small fishing community down the road from Lake Erie. When I was younger, coming up with ideas wasn't hard for me. My brain was brimming with concepts and things I wanted to create. The hard part was turning all of those ideas into finished projects. Throw in ADHD accompanied by dyslexia, and my mind became a pot boiling over. It’s like I had all the ingredients to create something wonderful, but struggled to get the amounts right. To be honest, I still do struggle with this. Although there have been things I've learned over the years that have helped keep me going.
One defining moment in my life was my sophomore year in high school. I had written a paper for my English class, but got a poor grade for technical mistakes. The teacher pulled me aside and told me that even though my spelling and grammar weren’t quite there yet, I had the hard part figured out; I could tell a good story. I had needed to hear that.
Throughout my life, I’ve experimented with telling stories through various mediums, photography, songwriting, poetry, and any way I could bring my ideas to life. Though I’ve had many setbacks, I’ve never lost my determination to create something beautiful. To create a story that inspires!"
